Photo of Abelia 'Canyon Creek' Abelia 'Canyon Creek' - Glossy Abelia
We love Abelia for its glossy, semi-evergreen foliage as well as for its small lightly fragrant flowers, which seem to bloom practically forever. 'Canyon Creek' is a beautiful new Abelia from Michael Dirr. The foliage is a lovely golden yellow, and it's enhanced by new leaves which emerge coppery pink, a colorful highlight all summer. Fragrant pinkish white flowers appear off and on all summer and into fall. Reaches about 6 feet. Most Abelias prosper in full sun or part shade in well-drained, acid soil. Z. 6-9
ABECAN 3-qt. pot - $15.95

  Abelia chinensis - Chinese Abelia
An appealing evergreen or semi-evergreen shrub that blooms reliably from late spring to frost. The fragrant, white, funnel-shaped flowers appear amid the lustrous deep green foliage that colors reddish purple in fall. Site in acid, moist, well-drained soil in full sun or part shade; may reach 5 feet. In severe winters Abelia may die back, but new stems should emerge in spring and bloom that same summer. USDA Hardiness Zones 6b-9
ABECHI 3-qt. pot - $15.95

Photo of Abelia mosanensis Abelia mosanensis - Mangsan Abelia
New to us and quite different from other Abelias, this deciduous species is also hardier than other Abelias, giving folks in the North a chance to see what all the fuss is about. Wonderfully fragrant pink tubular flowers appear in May and June, and the foliage colors orange-red in fall before dropping. A medium-sized shrub to 5-6 feet which grows well in full sun or part shade. Z. 5-9
ABEMOS 3-qt. pot - $15.95

Abelia x grandifolia Bronze Anniversary - Abelia

ABEBRO 2-qt. pot - $15.95

Abelia zanderi 'Little Richard' - Dwarf Abelia

ABELIT 2-qt. pot - $14.95

Photo of Acer griseum Acer griseum - Paperbark Maple
A small Maple with remarkably beautiful cinnamon-colored bark that peels in thin papery sheets so that the trunk and branches are always decorated with curls of colorful separating bark. This exfoliation begins even on young trees so that the Paperbark Maple immediately displays a venerable air. The leaves, which occur in groups of three, often color a vibrant red and orange in fall and cast only light shade. This airiness and the tree's slow rate of growth to 20-30 feet make it an outstanding choice for planting near a patio or along a walkway. It is quite shade tolerant and, in fact, benefits from afternoon shade in hot-summer areas. Pennsylvania Horticultural Society Gold Medal. Z. 5-8
ACEGRI 12-18 in. - $24.95

Acer palmatum 'Amber Ghost' - Japanese Maple
An unusual new Japanese Maple with leaves variegated in various shades of purple, especially around the edges. We have also noticed that the dark green veins are particularly prominent after the heat of summer has toned down the spring variegation. Amber fall color suggested the name of this semidwarf selection which reaches 6-8 feet. Z. 5-8
ACEAMB 24-30 in. - $29.95

Acer palmatum 'Ariadne' - Japanese Maple
In spring deep green leaf veins contrast with pastel shades of pink, orange and red on the leaf. In summer the colors deepen until the veins are a deep red on a purple-green leaf. The bright colors of spring repeat in fall. Z. 5-8
ACEARI 10-15 in. TT - $19.95

Photo of Acer palmatum 'Beni Otake' Acer palmatum 'Beni Otake' - Japanese Maple

Photo of Acer palmatum 'Inaba Shidare' Acer palmatum 'Inaba Shidare' - Red Threadleaf Japanese Maple
The unusually bold, sturdy, dissected leaves of this selection are purple-red in spring. The purple color holds well during summer and turns crimson in fall. Although somewhat more erect than other threadleaf cultivars, 'Inaba Shidare' eventually grows into a mounded medium shrub that should be sited in shade to avoid leaf scorch. Z. 5-8
ACEINA 18-24 in. - $34.95

Acer palmatum 'Kasagiyama' - Japanese Maple
Brick-red leaves derive their unusual color from an undertone of green, the two colors blending in endless variations. Black veins add to the fascination of this selection. A slow-growing, bush-form Maple. Z. 5-8

Photo of Acer palmatum 'O Kagami' Acer palmatum 'O Kagami' - Japanese Maple

The spring foliage is a purplish red and matures to a polished black-red which holds well into summer, when green tones start to blend in. In fall you can enjoy scarlets and reds before the leaves drop. The radiating leaves resemble fully-extended fans. Matures at about 12-15 feet. Z. 5-8

Photo of Acer palmatum 'Pixie' Acer palmatum 'Pixie' - Japanese Maple
A slow-growing, upright Japanese Maple, 'Pixie' is clothed in dense deep red foliage, and the maroon color holds up well in summer heat, with brilliant fall coloring. The name 'Pixie' may lead you to believe that this new introduction is a dwarf plant, but 'Pixie' actually grows to 5-6 feet in 10 years, which means it's really a semidwarf Japanese Maple. Plant in light shade or dappled sun for best foliage color. Z. 5-8
ACEPIX 24-30 in. - $29.95

Photo of Acer palmatum 'Shigarami' Acer palmatum 'Shigarami' - Japanese Maple

Rich yellow and orange suffused with red brighten those darkening days of autumn. 'Shigarami' grows irregularly upright to 9-12 feet with horizontal branching, which gives it a layered look. Z. 5-8

ACETSK 12-18 in. - $24.95
